PC-6RE copier: produces black lines longways on white paper copies

My 25 year old PC6-RE copier produces black lines longways on white paper copies, like the image scanner receiving array has dirt on its surface.  (Replacing the toner cartridge and cleaning "the orange groove" does not change this.)

I would like to find a repair/service manual for this PC6-RE.  Canon no longer has this--I tried them   If this is not available from a 3rd party, just instructions on how to remove the glass plate under the page to be copied so I can access the scanner head would help a lot.

Dear Sir:  I too have an old PC-RE.  I am looking for a repair manual but in the mean time I have gotten my PC-RE to make descent copies.  I followed the cleaning instructions using the (under the cover mounted tool supplied).  Please tell me where you purchased your new cartridge at and if you located a repair manual.  distinguished (The Distinguished Lunatics)

Also I took a  dry cotton ball and cleaned the long "roller" inside the toner cartridge.   I used  also a q-tip to clean the diagonal wires inside the unit (carefully) with rubbing alchohol  added to the q-tip.  My PC-RE started acting up when I moved it to my basement.  Even though there is a dehumidifier running, I think there is too much moisture for the PC-RE.

I forgot to mention in 2007 Cannon issued a recall on this copy machine PC-RE.   You might want to contact cannon because the recall mentioned a chance of fire.
