What OS are you using the printer with?
How are these devices connected?
A few suggestions:
Try printing directly from a mobile device.
Try printing from another connected computer
If these both fail, reset the printer to factory defaults
Uninstall, restart then reinstall the printer. Retest.
The printer has a 3yr warranty from Canon, you have options if there is indeed a problem.

That error will point to a problem processing the information from the print job it received.
