MB5120 won’t print photo from iPad & Canon Print APP

Selected photo from within Canon Print APP, select PRINT, printer pulls photo paper, APP shows spinning wheel and status dots of printing. 10 minutes later no print - Cancel.

Printer Screen: “Printing . . . Use the [Back] button to continue with the device operation.”

APP: “Cannot communicate with the printer.” Tap OK, printer still has message for 3-4 minutes, then kicks out the photo paper.

Hi D2C,

To narrow down this issue, you will need to print the network settings information sheet directly from the printer by following the instructions at this [LINK].

Once the network settings print, please let us know if the SSID matches the network your phone is connected to and the signal strength.

Also,  please open a web browser on your computer, and in the address bar, please type the IP Address on the configuration page into the address bar. Next, tap Go or Enter to access the page. Are you able to see the printer's
remote interface?

We look forward to your reply.

SSID matches. Signal strength 100% from the print out. From the IP address I was able to see ink levels, signal strength of 100%, link quality 100%.

Yesterday after printer was off overnight I was able to print one 4” x 6” print, 3264 x 4896 pixels. Printer would not print a second image. Buffer memory full?? Not clearing memory before next print??

Hi D2C,

I would try removing the app and then reinstalling it. There is no memory buffer in the printer so once it prints, it is set for the next command to print. Do you only print from the iPad or do you have a computer that you print from as well?

Have a clue: attempted to print to 4” x 6” paper with a JPEG from Fujifilm xPro1, iPad communicated with printer and pulled paper. Status on iPad went to 5th blinking dot but never printed. Cancel operation.

Opened the Fuji JPEG in Snapseed, sharpened, saved a copy. Opened the Snapseed image within Canon Print and touched print. Image printed without any hesitation. Canon Print and/or MX5120 does not like JPEG saved from internal Fuji camera software.
