MB2300 Won't Install Printer, Only FAX option


I had an MB2300 installed. Woke up one day and the printer option suddenly was missing. I did not change anything. My list of printers shows only the Fax option (people still Fax?).


Uninstalled, Downloaded new driver. Reinstalled. Restarted PC.


No dice - I am now the proud owner of a fax machine.


Anyone else have this?




So that the Community can help you better, we will need to know exactly what model printer you're using (it's usually on the top or front of the unit), any error messages you're seeing, and the Computer Operating System you're using (Windows Vista/7/8/10 or macOS 10.x), as well as the way you connect to your device (USB or WiFi).

There is no error message on the printer.


Windows 10, connected wirelsssly.


Exact Model is MB2320 Maxify


Printer was working fine one day, then the next the printer option "vanished." Reinstall has not fixed it.


Printer works fine for all our other computers.



Uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers may help.  Please perform the following:


1.  Click the Start Button and search for the Control Panel, then open the Control Panel.
2.  Open "Programs and Features", or "Uninstall a program".
3.  Uninstall the MB2300 MP Drivers and the Canon IJ Network Tool if either of these are listed.  If these are not listed, move on to the next step.
4.  Go back to the Control Panel.
5.  Open Devices and Printers.
6.  Right-click and delete or remove any copies of the printer that are listed here.


Once this has been done, visit THIS LINK to download and install the latest MP Drivers.
