LBP 6000 - page midline vertical smudge/smear

LBPImageCLass
Apprentice

Hello!

I have an LBP Image Class 6000 printer that has begun to show midline smears - I've included a photo of the printer test page below.

I've attempted to clean all the bits that I can reach without opening the machine, without improvement.

I'd be grateful for any suggestions and for any specific advice as to what I can do to fix the problem.

Many thanks Canon Community!

Thanks for letting us know what Canon product you've got. The imageCLASS LBP6000 is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions!

You can also speak with a Canon Upgrade Program specialist to help you score a modern replacement that would meet your current needs at a discount. You can reach them weekdays and Saturdays at 1-866-443-8002.

Hope this helps!

Hi Danny,

Is there any generic advice you could give me please as to how to clean the rollers?

Thank you for your help.

While I'm not versed in laser printer support, I did find this handy article on the Canon Knowledge Base that might help out with smudged printing and roller cleaning.  Your fellow forum users are welcome to chime in, too!

Thanks very much Danny - that's a great help.

My only issue is that I am stuck on the below page, and unable to locate the "Options" menu that would then allow me to trigger the cleaning process.

Would you have any advice please as to how to locate the "options" menu?

Thanks very much again.

Have managed to activate the cleaning program.

Ran the program six times (six different plain sheets of paper).

Unfortunately, the smear persists.

Canon Community - any advice would be appreciated!
