ImageClass MF741Cdw printing lightly; Adjust Image Quality operations not working

I'm having an issue with our MF741Cdw printing lightly.  I read a prior fix and followed its steps to

  1. Clean the Fixing Assembly
  2. Correct Print Color Mismatch
  3. Auto Adjust Gradation - Full Adjust

However, when I tried to do steps 2 & 3,  I received a "Could Not Perform Correction" message.

What is the cause of this?  Do I need to update the drivers???

Hello,
It sounds like you've already tried some troubleshooting steps for your MF741Cdw printer, but it's still printing lightly and giving you a "Could Not Perform Correction" message. This issue could be due to a few reasons: medicarecard

  1. Toner Cartridges: Ensure you're using genuine Canon toner cartridges. Counterfeit or non-Canon cartridges can cause issues.

  2. Paper Settings: Make sure the paper settings on the printer match the type of paper you're using. Sometimes, incorrect settings can prevent the printer from performing adjustments.

  3. Firmware and Drivers: Updating the printer's firmware and drivers can sometimes resolve these issues. You can download the latest firmware and drivers from the Canon support website.

  4. Cleaning the Sensors: The sensors on the printer might need cleaning. You can use a small paintbrush or a cotton bud with a bit of alcohol to clean the sensors.

If none of these steps work, it might be best to contact Canon support for further assistance.

Best Regards,
Julie Doyle

In January 2024 I purchased a set (4 colors) of high-yield Canon CRG 055 Toner Cartridges on Amazon for $605 + tax, which I used to replace cartridges as they were used up.  In mid-September I received a refund from Amazon (which I hadn't asked for) for the price of the order and the reason given was "Item not satisfactory".  The order was filled by Lake Falls, and apparently they were selling counterfeit ink.  I wouldn't have figured that out without help from you and the board... THANKS!
