GX 2020 Cannot change default password

I have a GX2020. I have been unable to change the default password. I cannot find a menu item on the printer to change it. Furthermore the Remote UI does not permit logging in until I change the Default Password.

I am having communication error during faxing that I hope to fix by logging in to the Remote UI

Typically the default administrator password on the GX2020 is the printer's serial number which is located on a sticker on the back or bottom of the unit.  

If that doesn't work you can try the word "canon" for both the username and password.

If these don't work it might be best to contact Canon support since the password used can depend on the printer's date of manufacture. 

Register the device first in your MyCanon account.  Then contact support.
