A family member gave me a Canon E40 cartridge since she is no longer using the printer. It is still in its unopened, original packaging. There is a lot number on the box, but no expiration date is given. I have had the box for nearly two years. I would like to sell it for her, if possible, but I would be more comfortable if I knew for sure it would still work. Any suggestions?

Hello Rstoll,
If the E40 cartridge is still in the package, it should be fine. There is no liquid ink in the cartridge so you would not have to worry about it drying out. Unfortunately, you would not be able to check if the cartridge works without opening the package and loading it into a printer.
