The Canon MF656cdw printer behaves unusually: each page is printed, comes out of the machine, gets pulled back in, and then comes out again. The print quality remains perfect throughout. It almost seems like the printer is preparing to print on the other side, but that’s not the case. I recorded a video to demonstrate the issue. - Brand new Machine.

If it is set for 2-sided printing, that's what it will do, even if there is nothing to print on page 2.

Greetings,
Sorry I didn't reply to this earlier. I started penning a reply, then stopped.
The behavior you describe is exactly what you think it is. The printer can print duplex (both sides of a sheet). It does this by printing one side, pulling it back in and printing on the other side.
There can be a few reasons.
One occurs If you have a extra blank page saved with your document or like @MREG stated, having 2 sided printing selected in the printer driver.
