Canon MF656CDW constant jam message, but no jam

Hello,

We are dealing with a printer that will print about 3 menus, front and back, before getting an error message that it is jammed. There is no jam. Sometimes it only prints 1 before it gives that warning. We called and asked support, who told us our paper was too heavy, so we ordered the one they recommend, the Neenah 8.5 x 11, 1952.m weight, 67 base weight. It is now giving us the same issues. We do not have this issue when we print on legal paper back and front, just letter size paper. Could someone please help?

I really can't tell what weight your paper is.  Have you adjusted the paper weight to match your paper in the printer remote UI settings or the LCD panel?  I've had the 656cdw since September, never had a jam.  I use 24lb paper and adjusted the settings to Paper 3.

Greetings,

I don't recall the maximum paper weight the 656 is capable of, but the OP did use paper that was too heavy and jammed his 656.  Its possible that something was damaged when one or more jams were removed.  Tugging on heavy paper can cause alignment issues.  I can't say what happened in this case definitely.  I'd start by removing the paper drawer and re-checking the paper guides.  I would also carefully remove and reseat the toners.  Then retest.

The printer has a 3 yr warranty.  If unsuccessful, I would contact support.
