Canon ImageCLASS d1620 operator screen won't turn on during set up

I just bought a Canon ImageCLASS d1620 unpacked it, but the operator screen won't turn on. I have turned the machine off multiple times, and have tried to download the drive via WiFi but the printer screen won't turn on at all. I've tried calling Canon but they were not helpful.

Let's start here:.  Where did you buy this product?  From Canon or a 3rd party?

Like most Canon Laser printers, the D1620 has a 3 yr warranty.  If you purchased the product new, you're not stuck with anything.  You have warranty and Canon stands behind their products.  ***Please tell iss exactly what happened here.

Please check that all packing material has been removed from the printer.  Also check the power cord is securely connected to the printer and directly to a wall outlet.  Try the power button.

If the device does not power on and the LCD doesn't illuminate, I'd pack it back up and exchange it at the place or purchase.  DOA items occasionally happen but it's very uncommon.

Tell me about your experience with Canon support.  What/why wasn't helpful.
