Do you see the scanner in the USB section of System Profiler? If no, either power or usb cable isn't proper. if yes, driver is the issue.

Assuming this is with you using the included software?

Hi thanat,

Let's test the hardware by scanning from a different program.

  1. Click the Finder icon in the Dock at the bottom of your screen.

  2. Click on "Go" in the Menu Bar at the top of the screen.

  3. Select "Applications."

  4. Select "Image Capture."

  5. If you see the message "No camera or scanner is selected," hover your mouse over "Devices," then press "Show."

  6. Select your scanner.

  7. You can press "Scan" to begin immediately, or "Show Details" for more options.

Are you able to acquire an image?

I'm having the same issue. I do acquire an image in Image Capture and I have tried deleting the CanoScan 9000f from the Image Capture Devices list, but I still can't use ScanGear which is annoying because I'm trying to scan film.
