Are any Canon printers supported on Apple OS X 10.10 (Yosemite)? My ip6600D is not supported.

I'm having the same issue- Yosemite, Mac, ip6600d. I've tried reinstalling the old Lion drivers, substituting for 6700d drivers and haven't had anything work- does anyone know of the best way to get the old workhorse of the ip6600d to work on this machine? Otherwise, Canon isn't providing a necessary service.

Major network printers like the Canon ImageRunner C7055 and C7260 don't have drivers that work on incredibly popular and much used machines like Apple MacBook Pro laptops? How can this even be?

This seems nothing less than negligent on the part of Canon?

Just be patient, it's a new OS. You have to consider how much time Apple gave canon to devlope, how much resources canon is devoting to creating the drivers. Higher demand usually gets priority. I can pretty much guarantee the order is Windows7>WindowsXP>MacOS10(earlier versions)>Windows8/MacOS10.10> long pause> Linux?  just based on popularity and demand.

The OS you choose have multiple implications beyond just interface preference. I love my Windows8 and RedHat Linux... but I know I'm always last to get driver updates 🙂

It's not negligence, it's basic math

It takes time to develope, and honestly look at the % of the world that uses Mac.. a few handful compared to the vast majority of the world that uses PC. . It's not a "this os is better than that one" (there ultimately is no real difference, it's all preference, each person addamant that their choice in OS is superior because that's just human nature, you made a choice and your brain uses positive reinforcement to confirm that choice) it's just a numbers game. roughly 80-85% of the world uses windows based OS.

As a former sales person, I would see this every time Mac released an upgrade. It also has to do with how early Apple will let manufacturers get their hands on the OS to start development. We all know how controlling and secretive Apple is. Yes, that plays out into a very stable and reasonably secure OS, but it can slow down 3rd party a bit..

Any time you are looking to upgrade your OS in an office setting, or just buy new machines, make sure to check the compatibility of all devices and software first. I'm one of the weirdo's who loves Windows8, and is dreading the return of the completely obsolete "Start Menu" in Windows10. But on my main computer I waited a year to upgrade due to 3rd party driver support for my big printer. Most of the world still uses Windows7 or *shudder* XP.
