p150 won't work with windows 8.1

I have the P 150 and I recently upgraded to a laptop which has windows 8.1 and now the scanner won't work. The laptop has no CD drive and I tried to download it from the website and it says that there is no software detected. I am confused. Someone please help.

The Windows 8 driver works for me on Windows 8.1.

use the windows 7 x64 twain driver (if your version of windows 8.1 is x64). this works. i am downloading the toolbox/one touch whatever software for win 7 x64 now. yup. scan button is green. yup. it works. and nope, windows 8 does not automatically install a driver. and nope, you dont have to purchase a new scanner for this new windows 8.1 software.  so lets recap, no i wont be purchasing another new super expensive portable scanner (sorry canon), no there is no automatically installing plug and play windows 8.1 driver for this scanner (liars), and yes the windows 7 x64 driver works perfectly with all of my software on windows 8.1. make sure you install the twain driver for windows 7/windows 7 x64. enjoy.
