Just received my National Geographic 2014 issue that includes a Canon add featuring a Giant Mole Rat. I wonder about Canon. This image does not justice to Canon products; it appears out of focus and the whites are blown away. This is not the first time I have noticed the poor quality of the images selected by Canon for this magazine. Is Canon sees wildlife this way, who would by Canon products? Also it would be nice if the add will include the Canon equipment used to obtain the image.

Is this the ad? It doesn't look too bad to me. At least the teeth look sharp.

As always beauty is in the eyes of the beholders. Regarding this image in my opinion has several drawback. Te blurred brown background detracts from the image. As noted the teeth are sharp but everything else is out of focus...look at the hair. And not been able show an eye glint is also a major detractor for the image. And finally the whites are blown out.
