Hey Canon fam,
I never thought I’d be writing something like this, but I really needed to share what happened in hopes that maybe someone at Canon sees this—or at least hears me out.
I’m a passionate content creator who's been working so hard to grow, learn, and build something meaningful. I’ve always admired Canon and dreamed of one day collaborating or even just being noticed by the brand that I’ve always respected. I’ve been tagging @CanonUSA on social media in my posts showing what kind of photography I am capable of doing and just hoping to be recognized in any way.
But to my shock… I found out Canon USA blocked me on TT.
No warning. No message. Nothing.
All I ever did was tag them in my content and reach out—respectfully—asking if they ever considered sending PR or working with small creators. I wasn’t being spammy or rude. I just genuinely wanted a chance to get my hands on the G7X Mark III and bring my passion for content creation to life in an unremarkable and unforgettable way.
It might seem like just a camera to some, but for me, it felt like the tool that could help me express the stories I carry, the visuals I dream of, and the creativity I’ve been trying so hard to share. I didn’t expect a yes. But I definitely didn’t expect to be blocked either.
It hurts—not because I got rejected—but because it feels like I’m being punished for daring to try. For being brave enough to ask. For wanting more.
I still love Canon gear. I still shoot with what little I have. I just wish the team knew how disheartening this feels. I'm just someone with a dream, trying to be seen. Trying to create. Trying to believe it’s possible.
Maybe one day, someone will notice me for the right reasons. Maybe even Canon.
