CanoScan LIDE 220 Need Help Understanding How to Save Documents

Logicshere

Just started using this scanner after purchasing it several years ago. I'm trying to use the Document Scan and have managed to get it so that it asks me where to save it, but I don't understand the system. It also appears that when you've added so many adds it doesn't allow you to do it any more. I save every file to a wide range of folders depending on their subject. How do I do this?  Please. I don't have the time to save them to one folder and then resave to their correct folder.  I don't use the IJ Utility or My Garden. I either save it from my computer or from my Corel Paintshp Pro  program. Please help me. I'm a senior citizen and this has be totally stumped.

Greetings,

This applies to Windows or Mac.  Like any file you are saving your computer., you are given an option to specify the path to a destination where you want to save a file.  This is a function of the operating system, not a particular product.  This means you can choose the file path or the destination each and every time a file is saved.

In order to get the most from your scanner, I would recommend installing its supporting software.

Drivers and supporting applications for your Canon scanner are available here:

Canon Support for CanoScan LiDE 220 | Canon U.S.A., Inc. https://share.google/argVMCzYW3hG38bZN

If you need more assistance, I would suggest seeking help from a knowledgeable family member, an IT professional or Canon support.  1-800-652-2666

Yes I know about being able to tell it where to save the file. But after a few times, you have to delete all the places and start over. I loved the Lide 210 it was great.  The software change they made to the 220 didn't do someone like me any favors. I have about 50 different locations I file documents in and every time I do, have to go to Documents, click Add and then Add again and when you get 5 or so listings you have to delete them. What a waste of time rather than go to Save as, file name etc, check or change the location and click SAve. Directing them to one general folder and then forcing you to manually save them to other folders is ridiculous.

Again, this is a function of your operating system, not your Canon product.

I'm afraid that I don't  understand. I have it set up so that I can select save to folder but the only folders it directs me to is Documents or Pictures. When I click on Documents instead of taking me to the C drive driectly, I have to hit add again and that will take me to the C drive folders.  But it only allows me to do that a couple of times and then I have to delete them. What then am I doing wrong?

Documents and Pictures are the default "save to" locations, but you don't have to use them if you don't want to.

You can type the path to a destination manually.  The menu is only capable of displaying the last five "save to" destinations.  You are not doing anything wrong.  This is a behavior of your operating system, or the software you are using, not your Canon product.  If you need further assistance, please use my suggestions above.  The community is designed to provide support and and advice for your Canon products, not how to use your operating system.  Once again, I'll recommend that you use the software Canon has provided for your product.  The "save to" destination can be changed and unlimited number of times.

Thanks for taking the time to try to answer my questions. I'm using Windows 11 and I'm using Canon's quick menu so I'm not sure how it can be my system. I've decided that I'll deal with the inconvenience for the next 2 years and then buy a brand that functions like Lide 210; I understand that the Epson Perfection Model works like the MP Navigator did on the Lide 210. Thank you for your time.
