Lens registration error message.

I've just got myself another L lens and tried to get into the regster product page but I'm getting a 403 error. Anyone else having the same problem, or had it and resolved it? Thanks in advance.

Greetings,

A 403 error non a web page is a permissions issue.  What is the model of your lens specifically?

Try the same registration request from a different browser or compute.

“Error 403 in the Canon Camera Connect app usually indicates a server or permission issue.

Greetings,

The Canon Connect App is not used for registering acquired products.  This should be done in your MyCanon account.

Maybe I'm not understanding what it is you're trying to do?

Are you adding a Camera to Canon connect or trying to register a product?

If I'm not mistaken, Google Chrome is required for Canon Connect to operate properly.  I haven't confirmed this, but again I need to understand what you're trying to do.  The threads title says lens registration error message, but in the message body you say you receive a 403 error when you attempt to open up Canon connect???🙂

 Thanks,

I opened it up no problem on my other laptop! Weird.

Hi Steve_B,

The link I posted is definitely workiing. It takes you to Canon ID for MyCanon log in.  So the error you're receiving is specific to the device you're on which you confirmed since it works for you elsewhere.

You may want to reset the browser settings on the device where log in is failing or at the very least review the permissions and clean those up.  😉

Let us know what you find.
