Switch from Tamron 18-400 to Canon RF 24-240 on R7: Worth it?

I bought an R7 last year, along with an EFS-RF converter, so I could still use my old EFS lenses. I love having a walk-around zoom with lots of range, so my Tamron EFS 18-400 (f3.5-6.3) has been my go-to lens. But now I am thinking I can get sharper photos by trading in for a Canon RF 24-240 (f4.0-6.3). Will my photos be much sharper? Is it worth the extra cash, and the loss in range (I still have my Tamron 150-600) to make this move?

I have never mounted the Tamron EFS 18-400 (f3.5-6.3) on a body so whether the RF24-240mm would be a better or sharper lens would be difficult for me to give an opinion. I carry the 24-240mm quite a bit and it is always with me when I travel.

Both lenses have IS, the RF24-240 provides around 5 stops of IS while the 18-400mm Tamron offers 2.5 but the RF24-240mm is about 40g heavier. Both are pretty much the same overall length.

With the RF24-240mm you will be able to mount the lens directly which will allow the lens to communicate more effectively (adapter 8 pins, lens 12 pins) so you will be able to utilize the higher burst rate on your camera. The focusing speed should also improve. The effective focal length will end up being 38–384mm because of the R7 1.6x crop factor.

I wrote this up a couple months ago because I am a big fan of this lens especially for wandering around and travel.
