My newly purchased 5D mark iv is randomly triggering the shutter when a remote shutter is connected with the 3-pin connector.
As long as the cable is connected, it keeps triggering at seemingly random interval. Actually, it does this even when I don't have the remote device at the end of the cable -- just plugging in the cable starts this behavior.
I would appreciate it if anyone has a potential solution or hints...

Bad or incorrect remote shutter release cable?

Thakns for your comment! I checked the remote with another camera, and you are right, it looks like the bad cable doing it.
I will get a new cable and try.
