Why is the 60D not supported in the Webcam Utility?

The 60D is essentially the same camera as the 70D with a smaller sensor and no wifi, but the both have USB, which is required for the webcam functionality to work.  It technically works but is very buggy, especially on Ventura.  Is there any possibility to have 60D added as an officially supported camera for the webcam utility?

According to https://github.com/obsproject/obs-studio/issues/8022  the Mac version probably has fundamental issues that will require refactoring to actually work well in Macs. I wish that Canon would jump on this, I'm considering getting a camera that has clean HDMI out... (probably not a Canon).
