I just moved to a different computer (same cables) and on this computer the EOS Webcam Utility only shows the black screen with "EOS Webcam Utility"
I have triple checked that the other EOS Utility is not running, the camera is in airplane mode, I have checked the USB cable and tried another USB cable. I have the camera in video mode now and still nothing.
OS: Windows 10
Camera: EOS M50 Mark II
Utility Version: 2.0.30

Which camera are you using? Which version of Windows are you using? Do you have the most up-to-date version of the EOS Webcam Utility Pro installed?

Windows 10, EOS M50 Mark II, Version 2.0.30 of the utility

You have to make sure regular EOS Utility is not running, as well as the EOS Utility Launcher Service. If you see a camera icon in the system tray near the clock, then right click on it and select EXIT.
You might want to try different USB ports. The Canon apps do not seem to work when a passive USB hub is being used. Many laptops and PCs use one internally. In these cases, there is only one USB port that is connected directly to the motherboard.

Like I said, the other EOS utility is not running and I have tried other USB cables including other ports.

Hi unknowjondoe,
Go ahead and turn off airplane mode and then make sure that Wi-Fi is also turned off. Then try additional tests.
If problems persist, please elaborate on what other accessories you have connected to the camera and the computer.
What program are you using for livestreaming? Have you tried other livestreaming options?
Are you able to download photos and videos to the computer when not using EOS Webcam Utility?

Hi!
Did you ever find a solution to this issue? I have the exact same issue I think.
Mine worked briefly after a Windows 11 update, but then it stopped immediately.
I would've said it's hardware but since it worked briefly and has worked previously I'm going to assume the cable is not the issue.
I don't have the EOS utility installed, only the webcam utility.
I tried reinstalling the webcam utility, restarting the device, restarting my PC, switch the USB ports (to the motherboard), disabled airplane mode, it automatically disables Wi-Fi when connected to USB.
No issues transferring files between the SD card and PC. Tried removing the SD card.
Tried a dummy battery, tried a regular battery.
Tried removing the devices from device manager so it can be reloaded again when plugging it in.
It now displays a PC icon on the camera. I can't see that there's a process open for anything other than EWCService which I assume is EOS Webcam canon (utility) service.
I've even gone desperate and tried installing the EOS utility just so I can close the process from the task manager, but it didn't work either.

SOLUTION: The only thing that worked for me was to download the Canon EOS Webcam utility PRO, not the regular version.
(I did not pay for anything)
Downloaded it, installed it and restarted my Windows PC and it worked immediately.

Then you might have a different issue. I'd provide as much info as possible, like OS, if it worked for you previously, that you have EOS (regular) utility disabled.
There are some reddit posts and youtube tutorials that cover the most common issues.
