EOS Webcam Utility Pro will not show camera feed for a MacOS 13.5.1

I recently updated my OS to MacOS Ventural 13.5.1. The EOS Webcam Utility worked fine for many years. After it got stuck at "EOS WEBCAM UTILITY" screen I uninstalled it and installed the EOS Webcam Utility Pro. After multiple restarts, it's still not getting the camera feed. The camera (T6i) shows the laptop icon, but nothing after. It's also not showing the red "x" error screen, which the software used to show after a certain timeout (I suppose).

What can I do to get the camera feed to Webcam Utility Pro? Camera, cable and port are same for the past few years.

I was able to make my Rebel T6i work in the following sequence on a 2017 Intel based MacBook Pro (I've been doing this for almost a year now):

  1. Quitting EOS Webcam Utility Pro software
  2. Turn on video conference in Chrome
  3. Wait until it fails and shows red "x"
  4. Turn on the camera
  5. Wait for the camera display to have one black flicker
  6. Turn off camera option in video conference
  7. Wait for 10 seconds
  8. Turn on the camera option in video conference
  9. Camera display flickers with a yellow (!) icon
  10. Everything starts working as expected

This is a very lengthy startup process and feels more like a hack. I wish the software kept working smoothly just the way it did 2 years ago.

My device is not Apple silicone. So I didn't come across any permission issues.
