how do I turn on silent shutter mode in auto mode? I have it on in manual mode but when I switch to auto the shutter sound is on.

You cannot. The whole point of the Basic Shooting modes is to simplify the user interface with the camera. This is achieved by reducing the number of settings and features the user can adjust, especially the more advanced settings and features.

Hello! Do you know if that is true for other models as well? I have an R10, and was shooting an event that suddenly got quiet during a prayer. I wanted to maintain my settings, but quickly switch to silent. The only way I know to do silent mode is the one way in SCN. Just confirming I'm not missing anything. Does the camera just default to Auto anytime I use silent mode? Thanks!
