Thanks

Saw the specs and just could not believe that they could build such an amazing camera without GPS.  Too bad...show stopper for me....

a lot of people don't need it. And the current GPS setup from them is a half -a$$ anyway. Use your smartphone, it's better.

The specs mention neither GPS nor wi-fi, but there's a caveat that the camera currently lacks a needed FCC approval. Are they holding something back?

It needs FCC clearance as an electronic device. The 1D Mark IV and T5i have an FCC statement in the user manual (and neither has WiFi or GPS).

The 5D series uses the Canon GP-E2 receiver which sits in the hot shoe. It's a better GPS than the unit built into the 6D.

I use the GP-E2 with my 5D III and I really like it.
