my rebel 3 on the automatic setting are making my pictures washed out and dull. How can I reset it

My Pictures on automatic setting are all washed out and dull, and I have to adjust them later.  I think a setting was changed in error.  How do I  reset it to the factory default.  Something seems wrong with the settings.

Switch camera to P mode and one of the menu options will reset all camera functions.

By 3, you mean a T3?  It is the Menu options.  Probably listed as 'Clear all settings'.
