Why do I have horizontal lines and purple haze on my pictures and vertical lines on my video on my Rebel T3? Sometimes I get clear pictures, but mostly not. I have read on the web that there may be an image sensor problem. Any ideas? The camera is 2 years old and out of warranty. I'm wondering if it is worth sending to the factory for repair or enjoy the convenience of a local shop. I've attached 3 pictures all shot on the same evening.
Thanks,
Mark

For me it seems like a broken sensor or something like that. A used T3 (1100D) costs 200$, doesn't it? It seems cheaper to buy another one than to repair.
Your "good picture" is not good. I see three lines in it.

Hello Matlet,
This type of issue would not be normal operation on for this camera. The best course of action would be to arrange to have your camera sent for service. You can do this on Canon's web site, here.
