Thank you for posting!

By default, the built-in microphone will record sound while video is being recorded.  The sound recording settings are located in under the 4th shooting (red) tab in the menu.

Just throwing this out to you, bobmischka, that if you're after improving the quality of the sound you're recording through your 5D, then there are a number of aftermarket external microphone options out there.  If that interests you post up a reply and options can be discussed further.
