eos R5 and Zeiss CP lenses

I have a fairly new R5 and an old set of Rokinon primes, plus a brand new set of Zeiss compact primes. The R5 has an R5 to ef adapter. While the camera sees the lenses, the record button is locked. All other functions appear to be working. I have image in the EVF, I can change ISO, etc., but it will not roll. Am I a dummy?? Have I missed something obvious??

You might need Release Shutter without Lens in Custom function #4.
