Yikes! 😬
You'll want to log onto https://canon.us/account
Confirm your info, or sign up for a new account. Once you've registered your camera, the site will walk you through the process of sending your camera in for repair. It will give you an initial estimate. Once the Factory Service Center receives your camera, they will re-evaluate it. If they determine the repair is an "extensive" repair (most aren't), they will send you an updated estimate that you can approve or deny. If you deny the revised estimate, you will be refunded everything and they'll send your gear back as-is. If you approve the original estimate, or any revisions, they'll repair your gear to original factory specifications. The whole process usually takes less than a week. During the holidays, the turnaround time can be a little more due to the extended workload. Once repairs are completed, they send it back to you second-day shipping. All of our work comes with a 6-month repair warranty, so if anything goes wrong with the repair, it's covered.
If you have any questions with the process, feel free to reach out to support. They're at 1-800-OK-CANON (800-652-2666) Monday through Saturday.
