Who will work on a Canon Rebel XSi and a Canon RebelT6i

My XSi stopped taking pictures. I can fully charge the battery, and it will take one or two pictures then quit. I can remove the battery and put it back it gives me a card error, there is nothing wrong with the card. The Screen on the back of the T6i quit working so you can't adjust anything on the camera. It is set to take multiple photos and since the screen doesn't work it is stuck on that. I bought my first canon in 1982. It was a AE1-Program, and it still works. Both of these digitals are broken, and the 42-year-old 35 mm still works. I ordered a new battery for the XSi just to see if there is something wrong with the original. The easy answer is to just buy a new camera but the Canon EOS Rebel T7 is the only one I could afford, and I really can't afford it right now. If I buy it will they stop servicing, it in a year or two like they have my other two cameras? Should I go with another brand after using canon for 43 years?

"No Best Buy, Micro Center or Cosco?"

This reply was meant to point you or anyone to a local store. Not as a must use choice. Since the query was brough up that there are no local camera stores anymore.

Indeed those are potential resources to consider too. Places like Best Buy and Costco typically have limited availability of models or they have the camera bundled in a kit that a person may not want. When the R and RP came out my Best Buy carried only the RP and of course no one there had any clue about it or its features. The price wasn't better than B&H. Costco has specials, but the special may be on a discontinued--or soon to be discontinued--model or a kit that is not as desirable as it seems. Like Best Buy the Costcoians will be clueless on discussing the camera. Granted we can't walk into B&H unless we're in NYC. My advice would be to research and then determine whether the amazing Costco price really is amazing.

I also shoot film so I have gambled on eBay grabbing a Nikon F, FM, Pentax K2, MX, MG, and Program Plus for absurdly low prices in fine working condition and have added them to my other film bodies. I'm scouting for a Canon A1 and F1, but the stars have not yet aligned. If one of them gives up the ghost I have no lost a fortune. It sounds like you did well. And always remember that it is the photographer and not the camera that makes the photograph. Enjoy your purchase and may it bring you good shots.

We have a Best Buy within an hour of us. I have a best buy card and could get 12 months no interest.  They have the R10 for 999.99 with 18 to 45mm lens and one for 1279.99 that has an 18-150mm lens.  Many seem adamant that you don't buy from these stores that are not canon dealers.

Best Buy is an authorized dealer.

I don’t believe there website is though. It is considered to be like Amazon Marketplace. Just a storefront for other businesses. Which could mean you could end up with a gray market camera.

THAT is a good point. It is my understanding that you are 100% correct.

Purchases of this level of expense cause me to slam the brakes on "Amazoning it".

I was assuming "in store". I texted a buddy of mine who works at Best Buy and asked if someone went to his store and bought a Canon camera if they were authorized retailers for the brand.

I think if you buy it in store you’re fine. But I’m not 100% certain on that. The only camera related gear. I bought off of Amazon. I should say my friend did. Was a nice leather neck strap for my birthday. But that doesn’t interface with the camera. Like a lens, flash or a battery grip would.

We're birds of a feather.
The reason I buy from B&H is that I have a local colleague who grew up in NYC and knows the family behind the business as well as actual people there by name. Thus, it feels mom and pops to me, yet it is as slick as Amazon to order from.

I’ve shared a Brand Store on Amazon with you. https://www.amazon.com/stores/Canon/page/5FDDA83E-27A1-472F-8444-4828B50C4243?lp_asin=B07QJDC19D&ref...

There is a Canon store on Amazon.
