Who will work on a Canon Rebel XSi and a Canon RebelT6i

My XSi stopped taking pictures. I can fully charge the battery, and it will take one or two pictures then quit. I can remove the battery and put it back it gives me a card error, there is nothing wrong with the card. The Screen on the back of the T6i quit working so you can't adjust anything on the camera. It is set to take multiple photos and since the screen doesn't work it is stuck on that. I bought my first canon in 1982. It was a AE1-Program, and it still works. Both of these digitals are broken, and the 42-year-old 35 mm still works. I ordered a new battery for the XSi just to see if there is something wrong with the original. The easy answer is to just buy a new camera but the Canon EOS Rebel T7 is the only one I could afford, and I really can't afford it right now. If I buy it will they stop servicing, it in a year or two like they have my other two cameras? Should I go with another brand after using canon for 43 years?

The R100 is about two years old. It is an incredibly basic--but decidedly capable--value model. As I've said before, I bought one as a backup/emergency body and it became my go everywhere camera.

I don't know if I am allowed to mention B&H photo on here, but I have bought from them in the past. I am pretty sure they are a reputable dealer.

Greetings,

I buy all of my gear from Canon or B&H.  They are an authorized Canon Dealer.

I recommend you save just a little bit more money and go for the R50 over the R100. While it does cost a little more, you get things like an articulating screen, better ISO (low light) performance and some performance enhancing features I believe is worth the small additional cost.  If you are only trying for a foot in the door, then the R100 is Canon's most basic.  However, there is enough difference between it and the R50 making the latter a better investment in the long term.

Indeed, they are a good example of a reputable, authorized dealer. Many larger cities still have camera shops where you can examine equipment in person, but mine--Bakersfield California--hasn't had a shop for at least 10 years and my go-to places in Los Angeles went out of business (though there are still reputable shops there). Given my druthers, I would want to see what I am considering buying in person, but that isn't possible locally for me. I am very much an advocate of supporting a local business when possible.

And from there, Canon has many models where you can spend a little more to get a little more.

Is there much advantage to the R10 over the R50 model?

The closest city to me is Shreveport, LA which is an hour away. As far as I know there are no camera shops there anymore.

That's why I first came to this forum. I saw that the experts here know a thing or two and can be trusted. It's the next best thing to being in a store.

No Best Buy, Micro Center or Cosco?

When I buy, I have decided to buy from B&H. Now I have to decide which model I want. For now, I got an older model Canon off of one of those terrible websites just so I will have a camera. I got it today and it seems to work fine for now. If it quits, I will use it for target practice. Ha   Thanks for all the help and suggestions on here everyone.
