Unable to wirelessly upload photos to Mac from EOS R5

I have download the EOS utilities, connected wifi connection to the camera and to the home wifi but still unable to upload the photos.

Welcome. Can you clarify:

Are you saying that 1. the camera is connected by Wi-Fi to EOSU3 but you cannot download images or 2. you are unable to connect the camera via Wi-Fi to EOSU3?

What version of macOS are you running?

Is the camera close enough to the computer that you can use a USB cable?

Yes sorry, the camera and Mac are connected to the same wifi (I've tried both the camera's wifi and the home wifi), I've installed the utilities software, updated the Mac to Ventura, but when I open EOS Utility 3 none of the links work. Instead they are grayed out and at the bottom left it gives me two arrows that form a circle prompting me to update the  Utility. Once I do that there are no changes and I still cannot click anything that allows me up to upload the photos.

I do not have a cable at hand. 

I think you need to run the EU software (not EU3) for the connection. It is in the EOS Utilityies folder and has two arrows denoting communication.

I tried it but cannot get a connection.
