Unable to download Images from EOS R6 and R6 Mark II to Mac Book Pro

I have a new MacBook Pro and I am unable to connect to either my 6D or 6D Mark II. I installed the latest versions of EOS software that I found on Canon USA and that were suggested for my OS which is Catalina. I installed new firmware on the MarkII so it is now up to date. I reset the wifi function to default on both cameras. On the 6D I created a new connection to the same network as the Mac book pro. But when I tray and pair its - nothing happens. Can anyone suggest a solution. In the meantime I am using a card reader.

New Mac Book Pro that runs Catalina?  Is it used or brand new.  I asked because Catalina is seven years old by now.

mbouhafa,

Have you tried a cable connection, as opposed to wifi?

Catalina is old software, but if you are running older versions of EOS Utility that you said works with Catalina per the canon website, it should work.  Are you getting error messages?  Have you checked "error detals"in the camera menu?  You have selected images to transfer?

Have you transferred this way with a previous computer?  If so I would think it would work the same.  If you have done it before I would suspect something is not right in the wifi setup.  If you have a way to see what is on the network, do you see the camera?

An update to this, I recently had to update from a 2017 Mac as it could no longer use the newest Adobe software.  So I guess it is possible that the software could be installed, but not use all of the features.  What versions of Canon software do you have?

Before upgrading I had no problem used EOS Utility, but I was not transferring via Wi-Fi. I don't think that would make a difference, but it is possible.

If you are just looking to download images try using Apple Image Capture. Free and should be in your Applications folder.
