Triple Back Button Focus Setup on Canon EOS R5 Mark II Issue

DLDietz

I have three buttons set up for back button focusing that I initially set up when I first got my R5 mark II last year when it first came out.  What I want to do now is switch the configuration settings for the AF-ON and AF-Point Button.

My problem is that only TWO of my configurations will show the Info-Detail Set option and I really need it for all three to configure the back button settings.

What am I doing wrong that only the AF-ON and AF-LOCK buttons will show the Inf-Detail Set option while the AF-Point Button won't?

Thank you in advance

What you are seeing is normal, the INFO only shows for the AF-ON and AE-lock buttons. When you also use the AF point button for AF and metering start the extra layer of settings normally accessible by the INFO button are not available.

In short this means that the triple setup you want can only override AF settings with the AF-ON and AE-lock button, the AF point button simply actuates AF and metering using the cameras current settings when the button is pressed. Knowing this you can set the camera AF settings that you want for the AF point button in the normal way from the AF menus, but ensure that the AF-ON and AE-Lock buttons use their INFO settings to override the cameras AF settings.

You’re probably not doing anything wrong.

Watch this Video. Rudy Winston is the best Canon tech Guy. Dont take my word for it. Ask Canon

Canon #auto-focus #autofocus CORRECTION: During the Servo AF Character discussion on Accel / Decel Tracking Rudy inadvertently reversed the descriptions (we've all don it). Thanks to Stein Rune Risa for catching that. NOTE: This is not an official Canon USA show. This is a podcast first and ...

Not every control button or function has an option to press [Info] for additional functions.
