Hi,
I just bought a T5i and noticed that the display at the bottom of the viewfinder is about half as bright as my SXi. If the sun is behind me or to my side, I can't see the display. I didn't have this problem with my SXi. I tried an eyecup, but it's too big and I can't open the LCD on the back of the camera with it in place.
I contacted Canon and they said the brightness of the viewfinder display can't be adjusted.
What is everyone out there doing to overcome this problem? Especially, if like me, you wear glasses?
Thanks in advance.
Have Fun,
Jeff

Ah, ... buy a 1D Mk IV.

I can't see your T5i so I don't know how dim is 'dim'. My 5D III viewfinder display is variable brightness. If I point the camera into a dark area, it dims. If I point to a bright area, it gets brighter.
