I have a canon T3i and when I put it in video mode my screen is black. Is this a battery issue or a camera issue? And how can I solve this problem?

Hi Mj4523,
From your description, it sounds like the movie mode may be set to Manual Exposure.
To check for this, turn your camera on in the Movie mode, press the MENU button, then scroll down to "Movie Exposure". If it's set to "Manual", you may press the SET button, then choose "Auto".
If the Movie Exposure setting is already set to "Auto" and you're shooting in plenty of light, I recomend contacting us. For contact options, please use this link: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/professional/standard_display/contact_us_pro
