R7 Stuck on Manual Focus

NMy R7 is stuck on manual focus. I have turned the camera off, removed battery, changed the settings. In the menu (AF - AF operation) only MF is an option.  I've read of at least one other person with this issue who had to factory reset. Do I have any other options?

Greetings,

Please share what lens you are using, and if you have tried with more than one?  If the lens(es) is/are not Canon or are not RF mount, please tell us what mount adapter you are using?

Hi - I am using the kit lens - 18-150. I have not tried another lens. Will do that now.

My RF 35mm and my RF 24-105mm focuses well in my R7

Just tried another lens (with an adapter) - auto focus works! Thank you! Any advice on how I get AF to work with the kit elns (no adapter)?

What EF lens did you try on the adapter. A Canon lens or a 3rd party lens.

Using the kit lens. Just tried another Canon lens with adapter and AF works. Just have to figure out why the 18-150 will not allow AF. Relative novice here - maybe a trip to a local camera store is in order.

What specific Canon EF or EF-S lens did you try. The full name is on the front of the lens. It can be seen with the lens cap removed.

Hello jlf100 welcome to the forums. Are you using native RF/ RF-S glass or adapted EF/ EF-S glass. I would check the AF/MF switch if this is an adapted EF/ EF-S lens and ensure that its set to AF. For an RF/ RF-S lens I would also check the AF/MF switch to ensure its set to AF. Some RF/ RF-S lenses do not have this switch. I would check the camera menu to ensure AF is enabled. Also ALL RF/ RF-S lenses are Focus By Wire including USM lenses NOT just STM lenses. Also does the electronic focus ring work too (assuming your using an RF/ RF-S lens) the camera metering system MUST be active for manual focus to work. This also applies to adapted EF/ EF-S STM lenses and adapted EF/ EF-S USM lenses which use an electronic focus ring.
