I own an R6 which I use mostly to shoot sports-- mixing photos and videos as the game unfolds. The RATE button has been a godsend for me-- I now use it to flag my keeper shots as I'm going and then I delete all unrated images and video in the camera before copying to laptop for editing. For video this is a HUGE lifesaver... my shooting method is to take 8 second videos and if nothing worth-keeping happened, I stop and start again.
I rented an R5 Mark II to try the better image quality/auto-focus... but the way PLAYBACK of video/photos works made my system of "rate as I go" almost unusuable: the R5 Mark II sorts all the video together at the beginning and all the photos together after the video. The shots are NOT in chronological order.
This makes it VERY DIFFICULT to just go back and look at your last 4-7 shots (mixed photo/video) and rate the keepers. I looked everywhere in menus to try to find a setting for this-- but couldn't.
Sadly, I don't think I can buy the camera without a fix. Does anyone know a way to do this in settings that I couldn't figure out? thx!
