The pictures look clear when viewing them on playback but viewing/downloading them in the canon connect app they are very blurry and grainy. It happens on both flash/no flash pictures. Is there another way to download them or way to fix the camera settings?

Hello Jplunkett,
Let's try resetting the camera to factory default settings and testing it further. It sounds like the camera resolution may have been set to a lower option possibly. To reset the camera, choose [Reset All] on the Tools (wrench/hammer) tab in the camera menu.

HOW you get the pictures from camera to computer makes no difference. This is digital. Either the file moves/copies or it doesn't. Nothing about the method changes the file properties.
