R5 Custom mode and coming back from sleep resets settings to initial from custom mode

Here is the use case:

- Set camera to custom mode, say C1 that has shutter speed 1/400 configured for it.

- While in C1 shoot as usual adjusting shutter speed as need, say to 1/125

- Let camera go to sleep

- Wake the camera up

Observe shutter speed is reset to 1/400

I'd expect this not to be the case because letting camera going to sleep and waking it up is not the same (shouldn't be) as turning it off and then on.

If you enable autoupdate for the custom settings it will keep updating it with whatever you choose duting shotting but this kind of defeats the purpose of the custom mode in my opinion, where you are guaranteed to always start from the same set of settings when switch to that mode.

You have indeed repeated yourself more than once in this thread, Waddizzle.

I don’t understand what the fuss is all about.  A solution to the “problem” has been presented an untold number of times.  Enable auto-update.

If you have an idea to improve the cameras, then submit a formal suggestion.  This social media platform is not the place to submit suggestions.

Sorry, this conversation is a never ending loop. As explained before in this discussion:

"It is common to wildlife photographers to use C1-3 to have quick(immediate) response when we need to shoot, depending of what shows up in front of you. Wildlife doesn't wait for you to reconfigure your settings."

I use C1 for still photos of birds, C2 for flying birds and C3 for macro photos. This allow to quickly change settings if a bird passes flying by while I am shooting a still bird. We are talking 1-2 seconds to react.
As an example: If I have an overcast day or working against the light I might change exposure, than I am waiting for the bird. If I wait too long, the camera goes to sleep mode or whatever you call it, and the photo is lost because I  was changing the settings back to what I want. This doesn't make any sense.

If you have any solution to all explained above, please tell me. How to have several configurations ready to switch between them in one second without using Custom modes? You might change the bird photography paradigm.
