Do it as part of the Post processing of your pictures. The camera does not do it for you.

DATE ON PHOTOS

Hi, lvtcanon; thanks for posting!

The EOS 60D cannot record the shooting date directly on the images it takes. To display the image and the date (the shooting date) at the same time, please see the below instructions:

1. Display the shooting information when playing images back.

2.  Insert the date when printing images.

For information about how to display the shooting information when playing images back, please see the instruction manual that came with your camera.

To insert the date into images you print out, either use the DPOF settings or print them using the ZoomBrowser EX software that came with your camera.

I can understand the logic of 'dating' a holiday snapshot as an aide memoire, or taking an 'image of record' for whatever legal or work-related reason.

But if you've worked with care on a landscape, macro or portrait shot, considered the composition and exposure, then slather ugly yellow type on the image, it does seem a shame.

But, horses for courses.

Of course, if you SAVE rather than SAVE AS in a programme like Photoshop, you'll retain the EXIF data which holds that info anyway, so you can use any common EXIF Viewer to extract that data any time you want.
