Hi guys, just returned back from vacay and got very sad, My working horse Canon Rebel T3 is not turning on. I closely looked and noticed that the battery compartment inside the camera there supposed to be 4 springs that would align with the battery to make a contact and one of the string came off and is missing, therefore, the camera cannot have contact with the battery, hence, no power. Any idea whether it’s something fixable? Or perhaps it will be so expensive that it’s cheaper to buy new Rebel? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

So is T6 the best for my needs? I don't mind changing brands, maximum $600 that I am ready to pay. Prefer new camera.

We can't speculate on other brands.

Oh I see. All right, what about the actual Canon, is Rebel the best in the line for my needs. I originally wanted G series, is it better now or Rebel is stil the best for my needs and the money?

What lenses do you have?

The T6 is basically a T5 with Wi-Fi. I would look at the Canon Online Refurbished Store, too.

If you do not need Wi-Fi, then you could spend half with a T5, compared to a T5

I would recommend the first kit. The long 75-300mm zoom in the second kit is not very good, but at that price, why not. The quality of your camera lens makes the biggest impace on the quality of your pictures. Neither of those lenses are outstanding, but with patience and paying careful attention, you can take some pretty decent pictures.
If you want, you can buy a Mobi Eye-Fi memory card, which adds Wi-Fi to the T5. Use memory cards 32GB, or smaller.

I think I currently have basic stuff 18-55 mm and as I said before I am not a fan of changing setting for every single picture. I don't care for Wifi so I guess I will look into T5. What lence would you recommend for my needs? I am weary of the idea to buy refurbished.... I think if it was fixed ones that's it....

Refurbished does not necessarily mean it was broken. I've bought a handful of items there. All of the gear comes with one year warranties, just like the stuff in stores. It just comes in a different box [Vixia, most of the time] and is sold for less.
The gear is thoroughly checked by hand, not by machine. Stuff even has the new smell to it.

Hmmmm let me think about it. I'm looking now what's the difference between Rebel T5 and Rebel T5i?

There are a host of feature differences. The most significant difference is the articulating LCD screen. The T5i can be purchased as just as camera body, which is all you really wanted, anyway.

I don't know what lenses to recommend. Becaause I do not know what your shooting habits are. i would advise buying Canon lenses, particularly models that end with STM.
If you shoot in low light situations, then you want a lens with a low f-number, which is the aperture. The EF 50mm f/1.8 STM would be good for portraits.
