I recently upgraded to El Capitan operating system on my Mac Book Pro and now my computer no longer recognizes my Canon Rebel.  Any idea of how to resolve this issue?  Thanks!

We need a bit more info.

Which camera model are you using?

A you using the USB cable that came with the camera or a different cable (some cables are designed only for charging devices and the data wires a not actually connected.)

What software are you using on the Mac to recognize the camera and if you manually launch that software does it recognize the camera? (You can configure El Capitan to launch any program you want -- or not to launch anything at all.)

Try using SD card reader. I did a Google search and there seem to be some issues with camera connection. I have no problems connecting a card reader to my MB Air or a MB Pro with built in reader.
