I have a Canon M6 mark II
I need an external flash, for some photography I'm taking a dance.
Unfortunately I do not want to take my viewfinder off.
I have a cage with plenty of hot shoe mounts one on top for the flash, and many on the side for a small wireless transmitting box.
I basically need an external flash and a box, that do not interfere with my hot shoe mount.
I'm curious if there is something that could plug into one of the ports on the camera, that I can mount on a cold shoe, plug into the camera, and mount my flash on a cold shoe.
Any thoughts?

The only way to trigger a flash is via the hot shoe.
If you had a built-in flash you could use that for a trigger.

You can buy trigger circuits that will ignore the pre-flash and trigger your external from the built-in flash.

Yep, that is the way it works.

No, you aren't fast enough for that! 8^)
You either put the M6 in manual mode so there is no pre-flash, or use a trigger that ignores the pre-flash.
