M50 playback screen defaults to a weird screen with a tiny thumbnail of my photos and videos

I am new to the forum and to this camera. I was following along with a tutorial video and I must have changed a setting somehow.

When I started today when I would hit the playback button the pic/video would be full screen size. Now it looks like the image below by default. There's two buttons on the upper right of the rear of the camera. One is an asterisk, and below that is another button that the manual calls the AFpoint/madnify/reduce button. I can change to full screen using these buttons, but I want to default to full screen. The view in the picture below is not in the user manual, nor is discussion of this feature.

How do I fix this?
