Lens Hood

My lens hood rotates when you focus. This changes the configuration of the hood. Can this be changed? If not, am I restricted to a solid hood?

The correct hood for the 18-55 looks like it is EW-63C, which is a bayonet mount. It has the red dot. But, it looks like Amazon sells lens hoods of various sizes for cameras; there is a threaded 58mm petal lens that would fit the front element. If that is what the OP has it should be returned.
