ISO most affordable cameras that can capture close and long range photos

Hey All,

For my job we must take long distance photos for overalls of items and then take close up photos to capture details. Could you please provide me some options that are capable of doing so and at an affordable cost? We've been using point and shoot cameras and it doesn't get the job done 😕

Thank you!

I would think that for forensics usage, you'd want at least a certain level of quality in the images.   An EF 24-105mm  f/4 lens would not have macro capability like e.g. an EF or RF 100mm f/2.8 L.

So you'd probably want to leans towards having a better lens, but also look at the camera's resolution that you'd be able to capture.

Whats the difference between EF and RF?

It's a type of lens mount.  If you stick with cameras such as the Rebel T8i, they would have an EF mount and so would require a certain set of lenses.  If instead you go with Canon's new R-series cameras, you'll use RF lenses with those.  But, you could also get adapters to use existing EF-based lenses with the R-series cameras.
