There are some third party battgery chargers available but do your research.

All 1 series from 1D Mk IIn, 1Ds Mk II, 1D Mk II, 1Ds and 1D use the same battery and charger. The charger is really expensive if you find a new one ($400+). Best to look for a used one.
There are third party chargers and batteries. Some are OK and some are dangerous. I don't recommend any of them. I use only Canon brand.
I still use my 1D Mk IIn quite a bit. Despite it being only 8mp, it is a better camera than most of the current DSLRs.

I guess you already know they are ni-cads? They are not lithium. So you must observe the precautions of a ni-cad.
