Yes. Your camera can use any Canon "EOS" lens in the lineup (of somewhere around 75 lenses) with the exception of the two "EF-M" lenses (specifically designed for a mirrorless "EOS-M" camera that Canon no longer sells here in North America.)

Thnaks a lot. My real concern was that the mounting threads are 52mm and I was worried that they would not screw in.

The "52mm" refers to the diameter of the front of the lens and has nothing to do with the mount that connects it to the camera (which is a bayonet mount and does not have threads).
But if you need, say, a polarizing filter, and all you have is the usual 77mm variety, you'll need a 52mm filter or an adapter.
